New Bedford Ferry Terminal
The City of New Bedford and the Harbor Development Commission (HDC) have completed construction of an 8,500-square foot passenger terminal at State Pier to support ferry services. The terminal features a climate-controlled waiting area, ticketing facilities, baggage area, restrooms, visitor information center, coffee shop, and retail shop.
Long-term and short-term ferry parking is available at the Whale’s Tooth Parking Lot (located near Routes 6 and 18) for a flat rate of $10 per calendar day. The HDC constructed the nearby parking lot in 2003 and operates a free shuttle service, transporting ferry passengers from the lot to the terminal at State Pier. The shuttle service also stops in the city’s downtown historic district and at the Elm Street Parking Garage.
