CVANB has provided education, arts and cultural programs for youth and adults for over 10 years. We are currently rehabilitating the Strand Theatre in the near north end, to turn it into a Community Center. Upon completion, it can be the home of live concerts and performing arts events, cultural education programs, immigration and translation, services, economic development services and event rental.

Especially in these times of unrest, CVANB believes every resident, no matter the background, must remember the heritage and the rich contributions of every immigrant population. Its programs target all ethnic groups of the neighborhood and city, connecting residents to a history and culture in a physical space for exhibition, multiple programs and services to strengthen and foster current economic development and exchange relationships between New Bedford and the world.
