Developers of old and those who never stepped foot in the city are urged to save the date for a “New Bedford developer’s tour” this fall.
Derek Santos, executive director of the New Bedford Economic Development Council, said it’s about stoking existing relationships and beginning new ones.
“It’s one of the ways that we use to communicate to the region outside of New Bedford what development sites are available, what districts might be of interest and just in general to promote New Bedford as a very good, and maybe sometimes overlooked, investment and development opportunity,” Santos said.
“You just have to be proactive in your business development activity to targeted audiences.”
Participants will tour three development districts and hear a panel discussion on recent economic development legislation and what it means to cities like New Bedford.
The event includes breakfast, lunch and a networking session. It will take at the Waypoint Event Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16.
