The New Bedford Economic Development Council (NBEDC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is requesting proposals from professional planning firms for a comprehensive land-use planning project on the City of New Bedford’s working waterfront. This 16-month planning project will help the City forge a strategic and thoughtful vision, through the creation of a Master Plan and Urban Renewal Plan of the waterfront district, that will enable the City to understand our real capacity to locate new business development opportunities in offshore wind in a way that is compatible with the commercial fishing, fish processing, cargo, and the cultural tourism sectors—anchored by New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park.
Responses will be due at the NBEDC offices (1213 Purchase Street 2nd Floor, New Bedford, MA 02740) on August 8, 2014 at 11:00am.
Please email Edward Anthes-Washburn at Edward.Anthes-Washburn@newbedford-ma.gov if you are interested in responding to the RFP so that we can circulate all questions and answers to each interested applicant.
