NEW BEDFORD — Registration is now open for New Bedford Community Rowing’s summer rowing programs. Programs begin Monday and are designed to accommodate rowers of all ages and abilities.
Learn-to-Row programs (one-day and three-week sessions) allow those who have never rowed before to learn the basics of the sport.
Learn-To-Row Days generally cost $25 per person. In recognition of today being National Learn-To-Row Day, the June 2 cost will be $10 and free for those 18 and under. Cost of the three-week Learn-To-Row class is $75.
New Bedford Community Rowing is a 2-year-old nonprofit organization, founded as a collaboration between the city of New Bedford and Community Rowing Inc. of Boston to bring “Olympic-style,” sliding-seat rowing to the harbor.
While planning continues for an Upper Harbor boathouse, the program is rowing out of temporary quarters at the Popes Island Marina.
For more information or to register for a rowing program, visit www.NewBedfordCommunityRowing.org. or call 508-717-4013.
